Introduction
The aim of this workshop is to provide the participants with a complete and up-to-date overview of hydrotreating units, the purpose, the catalyst used, reactions & operating variables. Further, the workshop covers the catalytic reformer unit, the type of catalyst, its function, deactivation, chemical reactions, and operating variables. The start-up, shutdown procedures, and emergency cases will also be covered.
The last part of the workshop handles the hydro-cracking unit of VHGO, the catalyst used, the chemical reactions, the operating variables, the start-up, shutdown procedures, emergency cases, and run-away temperatures.
Upon completion of the workshop, the participants will gain enough skill to anticipate, avoid, and handle problems that may occur in their plants.
Objectives
The aim of this workshop is to provide the participants with a complete and up-to-date overview of hydrotreating units, the purpose, the catalyst used, reactions & operating variables. Further, the workshop covers the catalytic reformer unit, the type of catalyst, its function, deactivation, chemical reactions, and operating variables. The start-up, shutdown procedures, and emergency cases will also be covered.
Training Methodology
The program is delivered in a combination of lecture-style and computer-based training. In addition, a significant amount of time is set aside for small working group activity when addressing case study problems. Extensive use is made of case study material to underline the key aspects of the course and to give the delegates exposure to current best practice.
Who Should Attend?
Process engineers, production engineers, section heads, senior operators, shift controls, shift supervisors, Technicians, plant operators and those who are connected with process reactors
Course Outline
Upon the successful completion of the workshop, participants will be able to:-
- Become familiar with H.T. process and identify the basis of the design of H.T. unit
- Understand the chemical reactions, process variables process & temperature of process reactors and be able to identify their operating variables, hydrogen ratio, and LHSV
- Know the gas oil & Naph. H.T. units including their start-up guidelines and emergency procedure
- Identify the safety rules concerning H.T. units and be able to explain catalytic reformer unit including its chemical reactions
- Analyze the reaction mechanism involved in process reactors
- Describe the operating variables, pressure, temperature and dehydrogenation processes for process reactors
- Learn the process variables, hydrogen ratio, R\G ratio & LHSV and recognize their importance in the operation and troubleshooting of process reactors
- Acquire knowledge on the process control of the unit, emergency cases, and troubleshooting catalyst deactivation
- Employ start-up and shutdown procedures and have an in-depth understanding of the catalyst regeneration procedure
- Introduce the hydrocracking unit including its chemical reactions and reaction mechanisms
- Understand the features & functions of process variables, hydrogen/hydrocarbon ration, hydrogen purity, and L.H.S.V
- Apply feed preparation, catalyst deactivation, catalyst poisoning and be able to determine the different types of catalyst
- Gain knowledge on emergency cases, troubleshooting, and run-away temperature
