Introduction
This course will cover the general principles for welding technology, welding methods, welding metallurgy, welding procedure specifications and qualifications, pipeline welding, welding of subsea production systems.
Objectives
- Be able to identify the different welding methods and typical defects or other associated challenges
- Have a higher knowledge of the WPS and the corresponding WPQR
- Have increased understanding of how welding affects the component's integrity
- Know special focus areas when dealing with welding of carbon steels and stainless steels.

Training Methodology
This is an interactive course. There will be open question and answer sessions, regular group exercises and activities, videos, case studies, and presentations on best practice. Participants will have the opportunity to share with the facilitator and other participants on what works well and not so well for them, as well as work on issues from their own organizations. The online course is conducted online using MS-Teams/ClickMeeting.

This course is intended for personnel who have a role related to the welding of offshore oil and gas pipelines and production systems.
- Design engineers with a special interest in welding technology
- Materials engineers with little or no work experience within the industry
- Engineers or technologists working with manufacturing, quality assurance, and fabrication follow-up.
